Food for tho- REAL!

Yesterday:

Can you believe it? We've practically tried almost every kind of foods there was in katong and in da east area? So much so that we could NOT decide on what to eat? For dinner! I mean for goodness' sake! It was just dinner! And hell yes, it was tough making a decision. Time was like 7.30PM and we left at like 8.20PM. That was as good as an hours' worth of deciding on where to eat! Like wtf! :) But hey, I don't wanna complain. I've got real good parents who dote on their children. Well we FYNALLY settled on seafood though. Over at East Coast's International Seafood Restaurant located just beside Big Splash.

You've gotta climb your way up the reasonably high stairs first before coming to the entrance of the restaurant. Yea, there was a lift, but we didn't see it. We were hungry, remember? Anyways, we went in. It was certainly not like any other seafood restaurants you might go to, because when you first enter, you'd be led by a personal assistant of some sort to help you "locate" your desired seafoods. Yes, "locate". We were in fact brought to a mini live-seafood market. You could see the fishes swimmin', the clams opening and closing their shells, and the cute pink snails climbing up the glass panels of the tank. They're so..... pink. Hah and soon to be, STIR-FRIED. Heh we proceeded by picking out some juicy prawns! Then were big fat crabs. :) Pops wanted to get the alaskan crabs though, it was fuckin' BIG I tell ya. But I told him not, we couldn't possibly finish ONE anyways. So yea, then we too had the "assistant" get us a huge GeoDuck (God knows what that was, an underwater duck perhaps? A plant?) Then aha! We got the snailstoo in the end. Pink and cute! Haha -evil grins- We chose other foods too, like seafood tom yam, seafood "hor fun". All seafoods.

So while ma baby was at her X'mas eve dinner-party over at the upbeat part of town somewhere near Great World City, I was enjoying my seafood parade. Yum yum. I fuckin' envy the prawns. They were like "drowned" in XO Hennessy before being boiled. Like fuckin' lucky. The prawn soup in which they were boiled in tasted pretty XO too though. NICE! GeoDuck was chewy. Snails were fuckin' addictive, and CUTE still even though they were stir-fried. The tom-yam wasn't as good as I thought they would be though. :( The "hor fun", only sub-standard. The crabs were... just crabs. haha But hey! I guess I was just too full to eat much. Heh.
Then dessert was served, super sweet and extra addictive, Red Ruby dessert. Wooooo! Can I please have one more? :P

And that, was ma x'mas eve dinna. Nothin' exceptional, save for the total bill. -winks-

Today:

Earlier on, we had Al Forno's for dinner, together wit ma mom, wifey and siblings. Though it looks pretty nondescript on the outside, where it's just like any other italian restaurant, you've gotta step in to actually see the difference! Looks can be deceiving! Because when you do, you'd be blasted with dome ceilings, candle-lit tables, dim lightings and a true-blue 100% authenthic pizza oven. I hearsay from the boss, that the oven was actually imported from Italy. I must say I really give credit to this fabulous restaurant. They don't use an electrical oven mind you, they use logs of WOOD that are burning to actually bake the pizzas! Now, since when have you actually seen the chef prepare and TOSS your pizza, bake it in the oven, and serve you straight!? Thus I deem Al Forno', a must-go dining restaurant for every couple. Be it just for an enjoyable dinner, company, or just there so you can impress your date. Either way, you'll like it. Trust me. Or your money-back garantee**.
:) We had Soute Di Vongole as ANTIPASTI, Quattroto Formaggi & Prosciutto e Funghi as our choices of PIZZE and a House-special Seafood Pasta by the name of Spaghetti Cortoccio as our choice of PRIMI PIATTI. And certainly pasta isn't pasta untill accompanied by red wine aye? So we had a glass of their house pour red wine. Absolutely perfecto. I shall not speak of the bill. :) But make shure you're loaded when you walk through their door. You won't want their chef to bake you in the oven when you leave. :)

*cheers* Seasons' Greetings.
